| The Aarau Literary Agency (previously “Sunflower” 2001–2009) was founded in the UK. It has no connection to Sunflower USA. It was founded as a fee-free service mentoring and supporting new writers, intended to morph into a full-service agency with aggressive marketing in due course. When the present senior partner (see Agency CV pages) was appointed (September 2008) the emphasis on marketing was accelerated. This can be appreciated from the Publisher and Producer pages of Offerings here and by noting that we now represent 15 writers. |
| We have historically attracted some fine readers and editors who volunteered to help. This conditions us to open an Associates Program in 2011 for serious writers, readers, potential editors and aspiring agents. We seek a few non-remunerated volunteers as readers (and then editors), and ultimately there is the possibility of being appointed an associate agent. If this last step is reached, one would be assigned to a writer (by mutual agreement of all three: agency, associate agent, and writer). Then as is Industry standard, you share (here generously) in the commissions. |

The application procedure is as follows: cover page with contact details, following page(s) CV with emphasis on reading and/or writing interests including genres you prefer. You may conclude the CV with any other statement of interest, special qualifications, and etc. Format this readably as shown on the writer’s page and in the downloadable Style Guide found there (as if it were going on the front of a MS being submitted) and attach this to an e-mail addressed as above. |
